PROJECT 01.

WARDROBE

WARDROBE

Design, Make & Install - 6-week project
Guest Bedroom
Malcolm & Di
South Parade, Northallerton
Malcolm and Di were unhappy with their shabby shelves and wanted fitted wardrobes to hide the television and make the room less incongruous.

The scale of the wardrobe meant this was a sizeable project. We crafted a shaker-style, sweeping ceiling-to-floor wardrobe. It envelops the chimney breast and is sympathetic to the character of the Victorian property:
"We knew what we wanted it to look like, and The Joinery Co. knew how to get us there."
~ Malcolm and Di
Solid oak-faced shelving
Contains TV unit, shelving and rails
Showpiece library ladder to access the deep, top shelves in the wardrobe.
Internally lit in hanging clothes area.
Finished at the ceiling with traditional plaster coving.
Frontals sprayed and hand-finished on site. Colour matched to an existing colour in the property.
"We knew what we wanted it to look like, and The Joinery Co. knew how to get us there."

They talked through ideas, and we translated them into design sketches to see where Malcolm and Di were coming from. These helped us give the project's parameters and show what could be done.

"We knew what we wanted it to look like, and The Joinery Co. knew how to get us there.

We use the guest bedroom at the weekend for a treat as it's so lovely. It's great to have all our friends and family over to stay, as the wardrobe has made the room look and feel like a hotel room. The bespoke ladder gives it the wow factor!
The Joinery Co. had worked for us when we first moved in, leading to more. They have many ideas, but always ask what you want and listen. The team is very responsive and works hard to problem solve. They will come up with a solution until you are happy.

It's been like having friends in the house- an attentive service with a working practice that is always neat and tidy."

PROJECT 02.

BOOKCASE

BOOKCASE

Design, Make & Install – just under 3-week project
Snug
Lisa & Mark
South Parade, Northallerton
A large but irregularly shaped living room with one end feeling like lost space.

Mark loves to read and had been drawn towards a bookshelf there. Having recently fitted a new radiator and light in that area, they were still determining how it could work around these.

We showed them past projects that could be adapted, alongside online references and sketched designs to arrive at a vision they were excited by:
"You walk into the room now, and it's just got more oomph to it- it's changed completely. It's fantastic and only took three weeks."
~ Lisa & Mark
Oak veneered MDF sealed with Rubio Monocoat oil, Ecological, Enriches and protects the wood in a single layer.
Ogee architrave runs around frames, the front and sides of the bookcase.
Integrates a period-style radiator to utilise more storage space on the wall.
Brass shelf runners to adjust the shelf height around the radiator for interest.
Softly illuminated with LED lights behind the right and left shelves.
Finished in F&B Elephant's Breath.
"You walk into the room now, and it's just got more oomph to it- it's changed completely. It's fantastic and only took three weeks."

The house had recently been re-wired, and there was a wall light where we wanted the bookshelf. I was impressed with their creativity when Brendan suggested they could easily remove it and use the wiring to illuminate the bookcase instead.
I'd always recommend the Joinery Co as they will arrive fully prepared with everything they need to do the work. The team are incredibly professional and care, asking us questions and boy, did they work!"

PROJECT 03.

WARDROBE & PARQUET FLOORING

WARDROBE & PARQUET FLOORING

Design, Make & Install- 3-week project
Guest Bedroom
[Client Name]
Sinderby
This south-facing light-filled bedroom with a countryside outlook had outdated wardrobes that needed replacing with something that would do such a beautiful space justice.

We were recommended to our client twice for our local joinery services. She had been nervous about finding the right people for the job but found we could relate to her ideas.

We produced computer-generated designs that led to the creation of a bespoke wardrobe, which was offset by installing an engineered, floating parquet floor:
"Before, it was just piles of stuff, but now all my clothes and accessories look beautiful"

Shaker-style external wardrobe doors with beaded panel detailing and cornicing.
Oak veneered MDF
Wardrobe installed ¾ along the length of the wall to give more depth and illusion of space to the room.
Finished in Farrow and Ball, Wimborne White to compliment the F&B Pink Ground walls.

"I'm so glad I did it. I only knew how much I needed the wardrobe once The Joinery Co. installed it. Before, it was just piles of stuff, but now all my clothes and accessories look beautiful.

I love any excuse to talk about it and have received many compliments. It has transformed the room, which is so stunning that I don't want anyone else to stay in it!

The Joinery Co. had ideas about panel detailing and the right style of cornicing to use. I trusted them to do it, and they were right.
Brendan had shown me some wood flooring samples that would be amazing in the bedroom. The parquet flooring is stunning next to the wardrobe, making the room feel even more extensive.

It's all been positive, and it was important to support local businesses. They are so comfortable to have around and well-mannered. The Joinery Co. feels like a traditional family business, very bespoke. They are very focused on their craft and genuinely interested in it. To them, it's not just a job."
